| Eastleigh Market Every Thursday & Saturday 9am - 4pm Eastleigh Women's Running Network We meet at the Hub Sports Pavilion on Bishopstoke Road every Monday evening. All women are welcome, regardless of fitness level or running experience. At present, the sessions are 6:35pm for the regular group run and 7:35pm for intermediate runners. From 29th June, the times will change to 7pm for the regular group run and a new 10 week Beginner Programme at 8pm for women who've never run before. It's £20 for annual membership and £2 per training session. Wednesday 24 March 2010 7pm at The Pavilion on the Park: Meeting Open to All ACTIVITIES 1. Farm Project Opportunities for growing food locally! Vegetable growing, market gardens, creating a community orchard, keeping bees, keeping chickens, woodland conservation and rural crafts are a few of the ideas we would like to explore. We are looking for gardeners and growers, people who would like to eat or learn about growing local food, administrators and directors. 2. Local Food Directory: mapping/recording details of local growers, producers, suppliers; mapping local free food! 3. Fruit and Nut Tree Planting in the borough: to produce local food, and products like wood, and improve habitats for wildlife; stabilise soils, carbon storage, water storage, and to enhance the attractiveness and peacefulness of the area. 4. Care for Your Area Project: Young People Volunteering and Community Involvement Wildlife walks and visits; and local conservation and creative projects: to restore habitats for wildlife, to help Eastleigh and surrounding areas to be attractive and interesting pleasant places to live, work in / visit, to regenerate local rural crafts and studies, benefiting community resilience and local economic development. Plastic bag free and love your litter campaigns. 5. Energy Saving Research Project Finding ways for local people to access energy information - and enabling residents in our area to take up grants for home improvements to benefit their energy efficiency and help save them money. 6. Travel Plan Enquiries: researching and helping to share good practice between local organisations and businesses. 7. Lobbying In partnership with the Green Alliance we will hold Hustings before the Election: to 'Ask the Climate Question'. We need effective policies from politicians to tackle challenges that threaten our peace and prosperity! We need to enable people to engage and act in ways that help ensure our security, safety, health and wellbeing now and into the future. We are asking our MP and Prospective Parliamentary Candidates (PPCs), what they are planning to do about the 'Climate Question'? |
